Assistive Technology Pointers for Parents
Presenters: Gayl Bowser and/or Penny Reed
Parents are an integral part of any child's AT team. This workshop reviews the manual, Assistive Technology Pointers for Parents, (Reed & Bowser, 2000) The training and manual are designed to provide specific discussion items and action steps that parents and school district staff can use to develop effective plans for helping children use AT. Content can help parents take a leadership role in their child's assistive technology team or get past a stalemate in discussions about assistive technology. Manuals for participants are recommended, but not required. Ordering information for the manual can be found on this website. Volume discounts available.
