Including Assistive Technology in the IEP
Presenters: Penny Reed or Gayl Bowser
This workshop reviews the legal requirements for including AT in the IEP and then provides group discussion and practice. Specific examples of AT as a Related Service, as a Supplementary Aid and Service, and as part of specially designed instruction are provided along with criteria for deciding when each is most appropriate. A planning process that makes the IEP meeting more child centered is demonstrated and practiced. This workshop can be from one hour to one day depending upon depth.
